Fostering transferable competencies at ETH
Checking all the right boxes in the catalogue data
ETH has recently launched a new feature in the course catalogue, providing the opportunity to specify which competencies are fostered (and assessed) in a course. Competence-orientation as one of the pillars of learning and teaching is gaining traction in higher education. The communication of competences fostered in an individual course can help orient the students about what and how they will learn in a course. This is a form of expectation management and can be help teachers plan their courses.
In this Refresh Teaching event we will hear from several ETH faculty member who used this new feature, which experiences they have made with it and what they would recommend to their colleagues.
